- Process
|
 |
- Upon receiving
an incoming shipment at Fox Electronics, a verification and tracking
process begins. Weight documentation, contents, quantity and lot tracking
numbers are entered into our database. A Lot Traveler is then issued
which will accompany the lot through the entire process until final
disposition and settlement has been made.
- Depending on the
type of material contained in the shipment, it is broken down into three
categories:
- Material for
tear-down, destruction and recycling.
- Material going
directly into inventory for resale / remarketing.
- Material going
directly into our printed circuit board facility for integrated
circuit evaluation, recycling and resale.
- In our Tear-Down
operation, the product is disassembled, with the various materials
contained in the unit (plastic, steel, stainless steel, aluminum,
cabling, etc.) disbursed into the proper recycling and waste streams
within the facility.
|
- If there
are printed circuit boards with reusable components within the
units being processed for tear down, those boards are then transferred
to our IC Retrieval Department for integrated circuit marketability
evaluation and processing.
|
- The remarketable
integrated circuits are then entered into the tracking database
for settlement with the customer, removed from the PC boards,
refurbished, repackaged, and then resold into the worldwide marketplace.
The printed circuit board material is then transferred to scrap
for precious metal refining.
|
- A Settlement
Report is then generated for issuance to the customer, detailing
all information pertaining to the lot, such as date received, date returned,
weight received, reconciliation of weights introduced into the proper
recycling and waste streams, charges incurred for destruction of material,
and/or amount of return due customer for remarketable product. Remarketable
product consists of items such as remarketable IC’s, drives, monitors,
peripherals and any other commodity for resale.
- The remaining material
is then shredded and destroyed. A Certificate of Destruction
is then issued to the vender with information pertaining to the particular
lot, guaranteeing that all non-remarketable material processed in our
facility has been destroyed and rendered useless in an environmentally
sound manner.
